What We Do

Vital Vet Urgent Pet Care provides same day medical care for dogs and cats experiencing urgent illnesses, injuries or minor medical emergencies. Our goal is to quickly assess your pet and provide treatment whenever possible. We will help guide you to the right level of care when more advanced treatment is needed.
We strive to always provide the highest standard of medical care for your pet.
We also understand that unexpected illness or injury can come with financial constraints. Our team will work closely with you to discuss options, prioritize treatments, and discuss costs openly. We will create a plan that supports your pet’s health while finding treatment options within your comfort level whenever possible.

When should you visit an urgent care?
Urgent care is appropriate for pets who are uncomfortable, sick, or injured, but stable.
Common Reasons to Visit and What We Treat:
- Broken or torn nails
- Eye redness, discharge, squinting or injury
- Ear infections and ear discomfort/ear pain
- Allergic reactions
- Skin flare-ups, infections, rashes, and hot spots
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Lethargy or decreased appetite
- Urinary tract infections and urinary concerns
- Ingestion of foreign material or toxins
- Mild Heat exhaustion or heat collapse
- Abscesses and infected wounds
- Bite wounds and minor lacerations
- Minor trauma and infected wounds
- Pain or limping
- Anal gland infections and abscesses
Many of these conditions require same day veterinary treatment, and can be diagnosed and treated during the same visit without the cost of a full emergency hospital.

You should go directly to an ER if your pet has:
- Severe trauma (hit by car, major bleeding)
- Severe bloating or distended abdomen
- Uncontrolled vomiting or profuse diarrhea with weakness
- Known toxin ingestion with severe symptoms
- Severe neurological symptoms
- Severe fractures that require surgical repair
- Difficulty breathing
- Collapse or inability to stand
- Active seizures
While we are able to manage many urgent conditions, some medical emergencies require 24 hour emergency hospital care. Including intensive monitoring, advanced specialty equipment, and specialized surgery that urgent care clinics are not equipped to provide.

Vital Vet Urgent Pet Care does not perform:
- Blood Transfusions
- GDV surgery
- Splenectomies
- Ventilator-level respiratory care
- Advanced ICU hospitalization
- Preventative Vaccines
If your pet requires these services, we will help stabilize your pet and coordinate immediate transfer to an emergency or specialty hospital.

Triage
If your pet arrives with a more serious condition, our team can still help.
We are able to:
- Perform rapid medical assessment
- Provide oxygen support
- Begin IV fluid therapy and many emergency medications
- Perform diagnostic imaging and blood testing
- Stabilize patients for safer transfer
Our clinic maintains portable oxygen and emergency equipment so we can provide critical early support before referral when needed.

Coordination with Your Primary Veterinarian
After your visit, we send a complete medical report to your email on file, or directly to your primary veterinarian with a provided, valid email address. This ensures your pet receives seamless follow-up care.

Diagnostic Testing
Our clinic offers in-house diagnostics to help identify problems quickly so treatment can begin the same day.
- Comprehensive blood assays
- Digital X-ray (radiographs)
- Parasite screening
- Urinalysis
- Point of care Ultrasound diagnostics
